Have you ever had Hawaiian shave ice? No, it's not "shaved ice" it's "shave ice." Yeah, I know. Weird. This giant mound of ice has guava, passion fruit and horchata syrups and is topped by a sweetened red beans! It is something of a Hawaiian delicacy and I'm happy to have finally tried it. Tonight's #Aristogrub was "The Champ" grilled cheese sandwich @GreenspansGrilledCheese in Los Angeles CA. I've been a fan of Chef Eric Greenspan for years after seeing him competing on Food Network and his creative grilled cheese concoctions on is short-lived YouTube series. The Champ is his award winning creation and features two slices of raisin-walnut bread stuffed with taleggio cheese, beef short ribs, apricot-caper puree, and dried tomatoes. To say it was awesome doesn't do it justice. #AristocobApproved to say the least!
